Emergence

Emergence is coming out of a period of revelation in consciousness. A transformation occurred at some point on some level of being that was buried deep within and is now brought to light. Some of the paintings in this series represent a “dark night of the soul” which took place long before this visual declaration.

I incorporate symbols, texture and mixed media to express emergence. Some preferred mediums are collage, image transfers, oil paint, Venetian plaster, ink, and wax. The symbols offer me a reminder of the journey I’ve been on and the ideas that inspired the therapeutic process of creating a new piece to close an old chapter.
